Privacy Policy

Short, specific, and about this site rather than a template. If something here is unclear, ask us and we will fix the wording.

The one-paragraph version

There is no sign-up here, so there is no account, no profile and no history of what you have converted. We set no cookies and store nothing in your browser. What is left is ordinary server logging and a small number of outside services that any page has to talk to in order to load. Those are listed below, by name.

02

What you hand over

One thing: a video address, typed or pasted into the bar. It is used to find the audio for that video and nothing else. It is not attached to you, because there is no "you" on record to attach it to.

If you use the contact form, we obviously receive whatever you put in the message — usually a name, a reply address and a description of your problem. We keep that only as long as sorting the matter out takes.

03

Cookies and browser storage

FreeYTMP3 sets no cookies of its own and writes nothing to local storage. There is no consent banner on this site because there is nothing to consent to on our side.

The embedded download panel described below is a separate service running inside a frame, and it may set storage of its own within that frame.

04

Server logs

The web server records the usual line per request: the requesting IP address, the time, which page was asked for, the referring page and the browser identification string. This is how outages get traced and abuse gets spotted. Logs rotate on the hosting provider's normal schedule and are not used to build anything resembling a profile.

05

Outside services these pages load

When your browser fetches a resource from another company, that company can see your IP address and browser string, exactly as it would if you visited their site directly. Here is the complete list for FreeYTMP3:

  • Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) — the two typefaces this site uses. Loaded on every page.
  • The download panel — the box of quality options that appears after you paste a link is served inside a frame by a third-party conversion provider. It receives the video identifier you submitted. It is loaded only when you convert something, never on page load. That provider runs Google Analytics inside its own frame, which is outside our control and governed by their policies, not ours.
  • cdnjs, operated by Cloudflare — one small script that lets the download panel size itself correctly. Also fetched only when you convert something.
  • Web3Forms — delivers the contact form to our inbox. Loaded only on the contact page, and only at the moment you press send.

Each of these runs under its own privacy policy. We do not control what they do with what they receive, and we cannot answer for it.

06

Analytics and advertising on our own pages

The FreeYTMP3 pages themselves carry no analytics script, no advertising tag and no tracking pixel. Nothing here is measuring you. If that ever changes, this section gets rewritten to say what was added and what it collects — before it goes live, not after.

07

Children

This site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. Since using the converter requires no personal detail whatsoever, the question mostly does not arise. If you believe a child has sent us something through the contact form, tell us and it will be deleted.

08

Asking us about your data

Depending where you live you may have the right to see what personal data is held about you, to correct it, to have it erased or to object to it being processed. Realistically the only things we could be holding are an email conversation you started and some log lines.

Ask through the contact form, choosing Privacy or data question. Include the address you originally wrote from and roughly when, so the records can actually be found.

09

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, so traffic between your browser and the server is encrypted on the way. No site can promise perfect security, but it is worth noting that we deliberately do not hold the kind of data that would make this an interesting target.

10

Changes to this page

Revisions appear here with a new date at the top. Anything material gets described rather than quietly folded into a paragraph.
