Terms of Use
The rules of the road, written so you can actually read them. Using the converter means these apply to you.
Updated 9 September 2026The deal
Open FreeYTMP3, use the converter, and these terms apply. If any of them do not suit you, the remedy is simple: close the tab. There is no account to delete and nothing to uninstall.
What this tool actually is
FreeYTMP3 is a free web utility. You give it the address of a video, and it returns the audio from that video as an MP3 file. That is the whole product.
It is not a media library. It hosts nothing, indexes nothing, recommends nothing and searches nothing. It has no opinion about what you point it at, in the same way a photocopier has no opinion about what you put on the glass.
Who may use it
You need to be old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live, and not barred from using a service like this by any law that applies to you. If you are using it for an employer or organisation, you are confirming you may accept these terms on their behalf.
Copyright is your responsibility
This is the important one, so it gets stated bluntly: what you convert, and what you then do with the file, is entirely down to you.
Your own recordings, your own uploads, public-domain material and anything released under a licence that permits it are all straightforward. A commercial release you have no rights to is not, and choosing to do it anyway is your decision and your exposure — not ours. Separately, YouTube has its own terms of service covering downloading, and nothing on this page changes your agreement with them.
Things that will get you blocked
Do not:
- Use the service for anything unlawful, or to infringe copyright, trade marks, privacy or any other right belonging to somebody else.
- Go after private, unlisted-and-restricted, age-gated or members-only material.
- Try to defeat technical protection measures, paywalls or regional restrictions.
- Point scripts, scrapers, bots or bulk jobs at the site, or otherwise load it unreasonably.
- Resell it, rebrand it, wrap it in your own front end, or present its output as your own service.
- Scan, probe or attempt unauthorised access to any part of the infrastructure.
We can cut off access to anyone doing these things, straight away, without notice and without owing anybody an explanation.
Services we lean on
Some pieces of this site are supplied by others: the typefaces, the quality-picker frame and whatever carries your contact message to us. Those companies answer for their own behaviour under their own agreements, not ours, and naming them here is not an endorsement. The privacy policy names every one and says when each loads.
No guarantees
The service is offered as is and as available, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not promise that it will always be up, that every link will work, or that the result will be what you hoped for.
In practical terms: videos get deleted, platforms change how they serve things, and upstream providers have bad afternoons. That is what a failed conversion normally means.
Where our liability ends
So far as the law allows, FreeYTMP3 and whoever operates it are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost data, profits, goodwill or opportunities, arising from your use of the service or your inability to use it — however the claim is framed, and even if we had been warned it was possible.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is capped at the amount you have paid us, which is nothing.
If we get dragged in because of you
You agree to cover us for any third-party claim, demand, loss or reasonable legal cost that arises out of your use of the service or your breach of these terms — including a claim that something you converted infringed someone else's rights.
Rights holders
If you own rights in material and believe this service is being used to infringe them, the copyright page sets out precisely what a notice needs to contain and where it goes. Those are read before everything else in the inbox.
We can change or stop it
The service may be changed, limited, suspended or withdrawn at any time, in whole or in part, without notice. These terms can be revised too; the live version always sits at this address with its date at the top. Carrying on using the site after a change means you accept the new version.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law applying at the operator's principal place of business, setting aside conflict-of-law rules. If a court decides one clause is unenforceable, the rest carry on unaffected.
No connection to YouTube. FreeYTMP3 is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by YouTube or Google LLC, and uses none of their trade marks. Names mentioned belong to their owners.
